hedgehog lab are proud to reveal that Lead Designer, Luke Medlock, has been named in the BIMA 100 - a list of 100 individuals who represent the best and brightest of Britain's digital talent.

The list recognises those who are shaping the future of Britain's digital industry and is crafted by BIMA (the British Interactive Media Association).

The company has previously featured in the list, with hedgehog lab CEO and Co-Founder, Sarat Pediredla, honoured at last year's event.

Over the first quarter of 2018, a select panel of industry experts, chaired by Nadya Powell (Chair and Co-Founder of Utopia, Chair of BIMA Awards Council and Chair of BIMA Diversity & Inclusion Council), gathered to analyse nominations across ten categories.

Nominated in the UX & Design Stars division, BIMA will recognise Luke as a designer who is pushing the boundaries of product, service and experience design.

During 2017, Luke dedicated his spare time to studying various laws and principles of design, putting them into practice both in his stunning work and innovative personal projects.

He has also shown a great willingness to share this knowledge and experience, both within hedgehog lab and with the broader UK design community.

A keen networker, he regularly travels around the North to take in presentations from designers and has presented his philosophies at events such as the 2017 Integrated Live Marketing Summit, IxDA and Rise & Design.

Founded in 1985, BIMA describe themselves as Britain's digital community and are one of the most widely respected names in the industry. Their mission is to drive innovation and excellence in the industry, and ultimately shape the future of Britain's digital economy.

On the achievement, Luke said:

"Though out of the blue, this has come as a pleasant surprise. It's great to know that hedgehog lab's designs aren't going unnoticed.

"As a design team, we've been making a conscious effort to transition away from the perception that we're a development house. Recognition like this helps us demonstrate that we're a leading design company."

Luke has continued to be active in the design community throughout 2018, and he continues: "This year I've been investigating how design can influence rising technologies, and vice-versa.

"An area of particular interest for me has been immersive technology. I've spoken at multiple VR events in 2018 as I continue to build my knowledge of the field. I'm already working on an XR project having done a lot of concept work, and I look forward to contributing to other great immersive designs as the team bring them in."

Luke will receive his award on the evening of 9th May, at the Ham Yard Hotel in central London, where the full list will also be revealed.
