General Questions

What will I need to run fixx (system requirements)?

fixx has been developed to run on any operating system supported by Java. This means you can run fixx on Windows, Linux (or Unix flavours) and Mac OS X.

fixx comes by default with the embedded HSQLDB database engine but fear not because you can use either MySQL or SQL Server as your database backend. We would really recommend that you run fixx on MySQL for optimal performance.

Do you have a hosted version of fixx or is it download only?

fixx is available as both a hosted service and a downloadable product. Why not see what our hosted version can offer you?

How many editions of fixx are there? Does it have different features for enterprise users and individual users?

fixx comes in only 1 edition and encompasses all the features required for enterprise or individual users. This means everyone gets the same benefits with the choice to use those features that matter to you most.

What languages is fixx available in?

fixx has support for English, Spanish and German from version 1.9 onwards.

I am a freelancer and am entitled to a free 3 User license, but will I have to upgrade to a Commercial account to give clients access?

The free 3 User license for fixx includes unlimited client access, which means you can have as many client accounts as you want. However, since clients are restricted only to creating and commenting on issues, you will need to upgrade to a Commercial License if you want clients to use regular functionality.

Support & Maintenance

What is the cost of support and maintenance?

Support and maintenance for fixx is absolutely free under the following terms.

Our default support methods are by e-mail and over the web (forums/chat).

We offer support on the telephone during our office hours (9am to 5pm GMT) but this cannot be guaranteed in busy times. This is because all our product support is offered directly by the developers, who might not be available instantly on the telephone. However, our response rates and satisfaction over the web are second to none.

Hosted

What are the contract terms for the hosted version? Am I locked into a long-term contract?

fixx Hosted is a pay-as-you-go service. There are no long term commitments or contracts on your part. You simply pay month-to-month on a subscription basis. You can cancel your account at anytime.

How does cancellation work?

Since you are billed for every month in advance, if you cancel your account, you will be billed for the current month but you will not be billed again. There are absolutely no cancellation fees or hidden fees.

Can I take my data with me when I leave?

Absolutely. You can either export your data directly out of your fixx instance or you can request a direct SQL dump from the MySQL database backend.

Bugzilla

fixx can import all your data (including attachments) from Bugzilla 2.22.2+. If you are an older version, you will need to upgrade to 2.22.2+ to perform an import.

Mantis

fixx can import all your data from Mantis 1.1.2+.

Fogbugz

fixx can import all your data from FogBugz 6.0+.

Basecamp

fixx can import all your projects and users from Basecamp. We are working on importing To Do lists and comments as issues in a future version of fixx.

Unfuddle

fixx can import your projects, users, tickets and comments from Unfuddle.
